Abu Dhabi: Public parking will be free for motorists in the emirate of Abu Dhabi on the occasion of New Year, the Integrated Transport Centre at the Department of Transport — Abu Dhabi announced in a statement on Monday.
The statement clarified that parking will be free between 12:01 AM on Sunday, December 31 and 7:59 AM on Tuesday, January 2.
Transport authorities however urged motorists not to violate residential parking rules, which will continue to be in force every day between 9PM and 8AM, or block traffic flow.
The New Year holiday will also see all buses operate according to the usual schedules. Only the Abu Dhabi — Al Ain bus will follow a different timetable, with its evening services available every 15 minutes between 1PM and 6PM on Sunday, December 31, 2017. On the first day of 2018, buses on this route will be available between 2PM and 6PM only.
