Dubai: Parking will be free across the city from December 1 to 4 to mark Commemoration Day and National Day, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Sunday.

However, regular parking fees will continue to apply at Deira Fish Market and RTA’s multi-storey parking facilities throughout the holidays.

Moza Al Merri, director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at RTA, said all RTA customer service and vehicle registration centres will be closed from Tuesday to Friday.

Surprisingly, no changes have been made to metro timings as trains on both lines will continue to operate at the usual weekday and weekend timings.

The Green Line operates between 5.50am and 12 midnight from Saturday to Wednesday and on Thursday and Friday it runs up to 1am.

The Red Line starts at 5.30am and closes at 12 midnight from Saturday to Wednesday and at 1am on Thursday and Friday.

Service timing for Dubai Tram will also remain unchanged, running from 6.30am to 1am Saturday to Thursday, while on Fridays the trams start at 9am and close at 1am.

They holidays will see the main bus stations working extended hours. Gold Souq bus station will operate between 4.25am and 1am, while Al Ghubaiba station will remain open between 5am and 12.10am.

Satwa station will start service at 5am and close at 11:15pm, except for Route C01 which works 24/7 service.

Al Ghusais station will operate between 4.40am and 10.50pm, Al Quoz Industrial Station will operate between 5am and 11.35pm, and Jebel Ali station will remain open from 5.45am to 9.45pm.

Metro feeder bus service at Al Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall, Burj Khalifa, Etisalat and Abu Hail stations will operate between 5.15am and 1.10am.

The inter-city bus service between Al Ghubaiba and Sharjah will continue to run for 24 hours during the holidays, while the intercity bus routes from other stations will also operate unchanged.
