The service will run on two routes. Route One will run between Jebel Ali, Al Quoz and Dubai airport and Route Two between Muhaisnah and the airport’s terminal one.

Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said that the objective of the initiative is to nurture a strategic partnership between Dnata and the RTA in an attempt to make people happy.

The free service will run from Jebel Ali at 4pm, 4.45pm and 5.15pm and from the airport at 6pm. From Muhaisnah the service will start at 5.30pm and the trip back will be at 6pm.

Phase one of the Sky Bus service was launched in May last year as a pilot project. The service covered 26 hotels through four routes, catering to 10,000 visitors monthly on an average.

In November last year, the service was expanded to 110 hotels across six zones and 12 routes.

The 12 routes cover most of the major hotels in different areas of Dubai, with RTA planning to further expand the service to 300 hotels by the end of this year.

At Dh15 per head per trip, irrespective of the destination, the service is affordable for visitors compared to other options such as taxis.

Available 24/7, the trips are scheduled for every 30 minutes from Terminals One and Three of Dubai airport. However, the shuttle service is also available from hotels to airport.
