Dubai: Dubai Police’s Command and Control room recorded 94 traffic accidents across Dubai between 4am and 9am on Tuesday due to the fog.

Lt-Colonel Khazraj Majid Al Khazraji, Deputy Director of the Command and Control room at the Operations Department, said of the 94 accidents, two were serious and seven moderate.

He urged motorists to take extra care when driving in low visibility conditions, as traffic accidents tend to increase in such conditions.

He said motorists should ensure that their vehicles’ windshields and windows and headlights are clean, and that their indicators are working before driving.

He said drivers should leave enough distance between their vehicle and the vehicle in front and reduce speed in order to stay within the area visible to them. He said that drivers should keep to their lane, and only switch lanes when necessary.

Meanwhile, a many as 26 vehicles were involved in separate accidents during the morning fog in Ras Al Khaimah on Tuesday. The accident left five people injured including one seriously.

Colonel Ali Elkum, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah, said the first accident occurred on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Salem Road where five vehicles were involved.

The second accident involved four vehicles and occurred on the same road While a third accident involved an 11 vehicle pile-up and six vehicles were involved in the fourth accident.
