Dubai: Motorists faced heavy delays on Thursday due to a number of accidents that clogged up traffic flow on popular routes.
A traffic accident was reported on Beirut Street at the Airport Road interchange, in the direction towards Ras Al Khor, causing a tailback of traffic in the area. Another traffic accident on Al Khail Road Dubai-bound brought further congestion on Dubai’s roads.
According to Dubai Police, an accident on Al Aweer Street caused further traffic snarls near Dragon Mart, towards Hatta. Motorists were advised to drive with caution and take alternative routes.

Heavy congestion also affected the popular routes from Sharjah to Dubai, including Al Khawaneej Road, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, and Al Ittihad Road.
In Abu Dhabi, an accident happened on the Abu Dhabi - Al Ain Road, which led to police blocking the right lane that brought traffic flow to a halt.

Motorists were also surprised to have their commute slowed down after water accumulated on Sultan Bin Zayed St at Hazza Bin Zayed Street, which affected drivers on all lanes.
