Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Traffic Department will launch a traffic monitoring campaign on Sunday.
Colonel Hussain Ahmad Al Harithi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrol Department, said that the total number of vehicles that were given violation tickets for not renewing their licences was 10,121.
Al Harithi said that vehicles with licences that were not renewed pose a great danger on the road as they are not tested for safety and may well lead to accidents.
He also said that a campaign will be launched on Sunday on Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Western Region streets and highways to check vehicles with expired car licences. Violating cars will be impounded.
