According to police, the bridge will be partially closed from October 5 at 11pm until October 7 at 5pm on Saturday for maintenance work.

Abu Dhabi Police urge motorists driving through Al Maqtaa Bridge to be extra cautious and not to speed, due to the diversions in the inbound direction to the city.

The bridge is usually used by drivers going to Mussafah, Mohammed bin Zayed City and Al Ain.

The Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah also announced that it is carrying out road works in the area of Samnan, which will continue until Tuesday, October 10.

Two lanes of the three-lane road will be closed for maintenance of the pumping station for treated sewage water.
