Dubai: Motorists in Dubai who have accumulated traffic fines from 2016 and before will get a discount of 50 per cent.
The order was issued by Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the occasion of the Year of Giving. The 50 per cent reduction in fines does not cover violations committed in 2017.

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, said that Shaikh Mohammad’s order comes in support of the initiatives of the Year of Giving, which was declared by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Dubai Police will offer various means to facilitate the payment of fine, through the traffic department and all police and car registration centers as well as kiosks in all commercial centers.
Fine payments can also be done online, through UAE bank sites and RTA centers and the discount will be automatically set when paying the fines, Al Merri said.
