Sharjah: Visitors to the Expo Centre Sharjah stand to get discounts of up to 80 per cent on gadgets and other items, while also having fun with the family, for 16 days from Thursday.

Leading retailers will take part in the promotions being offered on a wide range of household products. Food courts are also participating in the campaign.

Retailers taking part in the campaign include Sharaf DG, Grand Stores, Sun & Sand Sports, Skechers, Thumbay Retail Division, Jovial Watches, Lifestyle Jewellery and US Polo, among others.

Organisers have also promised an ‘exciting line-up’ of amusement activities, for the tens of thousands of visitors they expect to show up.

The Ramadan Nights event is being held as part of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival, organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“The Ramadan Nights will be a perfect family event this Ramadan,” said Abdullah Sultan Mohammad Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Expo Centre Sharjah.

“Tens of thousands of residents and visitors will be looking for an ideal place where they can spend their Ramadan evenings together with their friends and families, shop for Eid, enjoy multi-cuisine delicacies and keep the children engaged in games and amusement activities,” he added.

“Expo Centre will be one single place where they can find all these and much more.”

Recent studies have forecast a growth of up to 30 per cent in retail sales during this Ramadan.

“The event is perfectly timed to coincide with the last two weeks of the festive season, aiming to cater to visitors’ complete shopping, entertainment and gifting requirements,” said Saif Mohammad Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah.

Major raffle draws of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival will be held there.

Nilesh Kalko, chief executive of electronics retailer Sharaf DG, said that his firm’s “highly discounted prices” at the show would give a “great opportunity for families to get the best deals in the market.”

The show opens from 8pm until 2am daily during Ramadan and from 4pm to 11pm during the Eid holidays. Entry is free for children under 12.
