Dubai: The 16th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) gathers pace as the Summer in Dubai festivities enter in to second week with a wide range of entertainment and shopping promotions across shopping malls in Dubai.
DSS this year is the opening act of the three-month long “Summer is Dubai” campaign which runs from June 7 to September 7 and comprises Modhesh World, “Ramadan in Dubai” and “Eid in Dubai” and presents the city as an ideal summer destination for families and visitors as well as residents.
During DSS which runs from June 7 to July 7 shopping mall visitors can expect to be entertained with different children shows, activities and shopping promotions.
Dubai Festival City Mall started its celebrations with different children entertainment shows such as “Peter in Wonderland Show” which will run in Toys R Us until June 16, The “Jungle Story” which will run from June 20-29 as well as “Kids Fashion Week” which will take place from July 1-6.
Children can also expect to be entertained by the roaming artists, dancing troupes and Modhesh Meet-and-Greet that will all be part of the month long festival.
Dubai shopping lovers will also be part of the celebrations as the Dubai Festival City Mall will offer shoppers the chance to be part of weekly raffle draws to win weekly surprises worth ADh100,000 as well as taking home the grand prize: a 2013 Honda CR-V.
The shoppers will be part of the celebrations through the many promotions and big discounts that will take place across Dubai shopping malls and the extended “Summer Mall Hour.” During DSS Dubai malls will be open from Sunday to Saturday 10am until midnight.
Mall of the Emirates celebrated DSS with gymnastic displays, contortionist acts, balance tricks, lively dances and foot-tapping music made up a wholesome evening of entertainment at the Mall of the Emirates on Wednesday with two performances of the Treasure Box show. The Treasure Box show continues until Sunday, June 16 at the Mall of the Emirates, with three daily shows over the weekend at 4:30pm, 6pm and 8pm.
In Deira City Centre, Modhesh, the Dubai Summer Surprises’ (DSS) icon paid a visit on Wednesda to spread joy and happiness among the children visiting the centre. Modhesh World, the largest family indoor entertainment destinations in the region is scheduled to take place from June 20 to August 28.
