Dubai: Dubai Municipality has denied a local report saying the Dubai Frame project will open Tuesday.
In a press release issued on Sunday, a senior official of the civic body also clarified that the date of opening the latest tourist attraction has not yet been decided.
Referring to a local newspaper report, which says Dubai Frame project will be opened on Tuesday, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mutaiwei (left), assistant director general for Communication and Community Sector and the official spokesperson of Dubai Municipality, said that so far the date of the official opening of Frame has not yet been decided.
He said the project will be opened soon after the completion of all project works and operations.
The official called on the public not to circulate such false news and verify the information through the official channels of the Municipality.
“Dubai Frame is one of the unique projects that Dubai Municipality is keen to implement. It is an aesthetic icon and an architectural landmark that culturally connects the past with the present, and an important attraction for visitors, tourists and residents alike. It is expected to attract about two million tourists annually,” pointed out Al Mutaiwei.
Dubai Frame or “Berwaz Dubai” consists of two transparent glass towers of 150m height that are connected by a 93m bridge at the top.
The space between the towers gives a pretty clear view of the city from a high altitude.
On one side, it frames the images and buildings of Sheikh Zayed Road, to symbolize the modern city of Dubai, while the other side of the Frame includes landmark areas of Deira, Umm Hurair and Karama, which symbolize the old Dubai.
