Al Ain Labourers will now be able to enjoy quality accommodation equipped with modern amenities in Al Ain.

Located some 25 kilometres from downtown Al Ain on Al Ain-Abu Dhabi Truck Road, the Operative Village has been designed to accommodate 5,690 people and offers social, sporting, and recreational activities.

The village, developed by Aldar Properties, was yesterday inaugurated by Mubarak Saeed Al Daheri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour.

The ceremony was also attended by Mohammad Abdullah Al Za'abi, Director of Estates at Aldar Properties, Engineer Khadem Sawayeh Al Muhairi, Chief Labour Service Officer of the ZonesCorp, and other senior officials.

An official of Aldar said the village covers an area of 75,000 square metres and it can be upgraded to accommodate up to 10,500 residents in the future. He said this is the first permanent camp of its kind in Al Ain.

Facilities at the village include dining halls, laundries, a medical facility and pharmacy, mosque, supermarket, money exchange and an internet cafe.

The development also includes recreational facilities such as television rooms, a gym, basketball and volleyball pitches, as well as a dedicated manager for social and sporting events.
