Dubai: A two-day workshop on the latest advances in treating tobacco addiction, especially among pregnant women and adolescents, has concluded.

The workshop was part of the Tobacco-Free Dubai project, which was launched by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in 2009 under the patronage of Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture, and comprises awareness campaigns across schools, universities, and public and private sector entities.

The workshop was attended by more than 60 healthcare professionals from the DHA, UAE Ministry of Health (MoH), Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police and physicians from the UAE and the GCC countries.

Specialists in the field including Global Bridges Alliance, international specialists in smoking cessation and the King Hussain Cancer Centre in Jordan held educational lectures.
