Abu Dhabi: A state-of-the-art family hospital operating seven days a week with special care for children and newborns opened in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Medeor 24x7 Abu Dhabi is a multi-speciality hospital focused on family care with the latest in medical technology. It is the only hospital in the GCC to use a robotic arm in its pharmacies, according to Pieter Slabberts, CEO of Medeor 24x7.

“Our is the only hospital in the private sector in Abu Dhabi ensuring world-class care for children and newborns,” the hospital spokesperson said in a statement.

Paediatric ambulances and a fully equipped Level 3 neonatal intensive care unit are some of the health-care services provided.

“The robotic arm will be used in pharmacies and is the only of its kind in the GCC. It was installed to decrease waiting time and medical errors as well as to increase patient counselling time. This is done through a technologically enhanced system where subscriptions are sent to the pharmacy. Once approved they are sent in a box by the robotic arm,” Medeor 24x7 Hospital told Gulf News.

The hospital and its health-care professionals will be available to residents 24 hours a days seven days a week. The medical facility is located on Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street (Al Muroor Road).

“Medeor 24x7 Hospital is a key asset to the UAE’s medical industry, and is aligned with Abu Dhabi’s Vision 2030 in contributing to the growth and evolution of health care nationally. Our aim is to provide our patients with world-class medical care while remaining true to local culture and traditions and ensuring we place people and the local community at the heart of all we do,” Slabberts said in a statement.

With 80 beds and 24 specialities, the medical facility provides mother and child care, cardiology (interventional and non-interventional), neurosciences, adult and neonatal critical care, musculoskeletal, psychiatry, general and minimally invasive surgeries, endocrinology, rheumatology, dermatology and cosmetology, gastroenterology, physiotherapy, dentistry and ophthalmology services, the hospital said in a statement.
