A unique electronically integrated immunisation record system will streamline vaccination history of all Dubai residents, a top Dubai Health Authority (DHA) official said on Monday.

Amani Al Jassmi, Director of Information and Technology at DHA, spoke to Gulf News on the sidelines of the second edition of the Dubai Health Forum 2018.

“This new system called ‘Hasana’ will create a unique immunisation record for each individual in Dubai and will improve preventive care through access to unified immunisation records at any facility and availability of relevant data,” Al Jassmi said explaining the system which is to be implemented soon at all DHA hospitals.

Hasana will also enable the DHA to lay the foundation for building a Population Health Management System, which will be robust enough to manage and contain the spread of communicable diseases, Al Jassmi added.

The immunisation system will be app-based, making it easier to register, administer and monitor immunisation campaigns in schools.

These system will support the DHA’s strategy and help build a infectious-disease-free society providing all government and private health care stakeholders access to the same immunisation data and ensure the highest quality care to all, Al Jassmi said.

“Hassna system, when fully operable, will equip health policy makers in Dubai with the necessary tools to prevent, detect, and manage the outbreak of communicable diseases in an efficient manner,” Al Jassmi said.
