Abu Dhabi: Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, on Sunday inaugurated Brightpoint Royal Women’s Hospital, a subsidiary of the New Medical Centre Group, in Abu Dhabi.
The 100-bed hospital provides outstanding prenatal and postnatal care and medical services to mothers and their children. The new facility comprises a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for newborn and premature babies which is equipped with the latest technology and sophisticated medical equipment.
Shaikha Fatima was received by Dr C.R. Shetty, medical director of the NMC Group, and a number of consultants and professionals in various disciplines in the hospital where she unveiled the commemorative plaque marking the official opening of the hospital. Following the opening, Shaikha Fatima expressed her extreme interest in maternal and child health care and highlighted the important role played by the private sector and its contribution to providing health-care services both in the field of treatment and the use of the latest medical technology.
Dr Shetty extended her profound thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership under President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and all bodies and organisations that provide support to investors in the medical sector.
Shaikha Fatima toured the hospital and its various sections and thanked the medical and technical staff, wishing them all the success.
