Dubai: A video containing indecent content that was recorded in the clinic of a prominent cosmetic surgeon has prompted Dubai’s health authorities to suspend the doctor’s licence, Gulf News learnt on Wednesday.
The famed cosmetic surgeon has been prevented from practising after the video that contained the inappropriate and immoral content was circulated on social media.
In a statement sent to Gulf News, Dr Ramadan Al Beloushi, CEO, Dubai Healthcare City Authority — Regulatory, said, “We can confirm that we have suspended the licence of the doctor in question whose social media activity is in violation with the basic ethics governing the health care profession. An investigation has been initiated and a decision will be made by the Complaints Panel in due course.”
“The Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) has already notified the department of public health and licensing at the Ministry of Health that the licence of the cosmetic surgeon concerned has been suspended after the video that was recorded in his DHCA-based clinic went viral. The content of the video is considered indecent and violates the UAE’s traditions and norms,” a source told Gulf News.
According to the source, the suspended surgeon is seen in the video sitting on a stool in the clinic with three women, who are believed to be his clients. The video shows the women putting their hands on their private parts in a form of connotation to the success of the cosmetic surgeries that they had undergone at the surgeon’s clinic.
The video also shows the faces of the women, that of the doctor and the name of the clinic as well, according to the source, who said the suspension happened earlier this week.
