Dubai: Cardiologists from around the world will gather in Dubai next month for the Excellence in Cardiac Care Congress.

The two-day event, to be held on October 7 and 8, will see participation of more than 20 regional and international experts.

Organised by Gruppo Ospedaliero San Donato (Milan) and supported by Indian Association of Clinical Cardiologists, the event will focus on interdisciplinary approaches in cardiac care.

“We believe Excellence in Cardiac Care Congress 2016 will be a truly distinctive event for the cardiac community in the region. The topic of the event will be interdisciplinary approaches in cardiac care, and the objective will be to show how different cardiac specialists can work together and even use each other’s techniques to improve patient outcomes and tackle structural cardiac conditions,” said Dr Francesco Magro, Head of International Development – Middle East for Gruppo San Donato.

The conference will feature scientific presentations, workshops and interactive sessions by a number of expert speakers, including Professor Dr Abdullah Shehab, Head of Cardiology Department at Al Ain Hospital; Dr Abdul Rahman Al Beloushi, Professor Alessandro Frigiola, Head of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Policlinico San Donato, Milan; Professor Andrea Kahlberg, Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery Vita-Salute University School of Medicine, Milan and others.

Key topics of the congress include modern techniques in heart surgery, interventional cardiology and cardiac arrythmology, as well as pulmonary hypertension cardiac rehabilitation after cardiac surgery, modern management of diseases of the thoracic aorta, the renewal of the heart from stem cells to guide the re-programming and more.
