Dubai: Dubai’s Public Healthcare Centres (PHC) became the first in the region to receive International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) certifications, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) revealed on Saturday.
The health centres run by DHA received six certifications in the fields of quality management, environmental management systems, occupational safety and health management systems, social responsibility, customer satisfaction and complaints management system.
First in the Mena region to receive ISO certifications, the centres that were awarded on October 6 include Nad Al Hamar, Al Badaa, Al Barsha, Al Khawaneej, Al Lissaily, Al Mamzar, Al Mankhool, Al Mizhar, Al Safa, Al Twar and Zaabeel.
Earlier this year 10 DHA health centres also received international accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI).
Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of DHA said receiving all these international recognitions is a testimony to the capabilities of the health centres not only in providing health care services but also in providing training and growth for doctors and specialists in the region.
Al Qatami reaffirmed that by achieving these prominent international standards, DHA facilities are adding to Dubai’s international status. It also increases the level of trust and satisfaction of Dubai residents.
Dr Manal Taryam, CEO of PHC, said that the authority aimed to earn the ISO certification to provide the public with first class medical services and to continue on developing PHC’s quality and standards by striving to meet international standards.
She said receiving this certification required extra work and effort by her team who spared no effort in meeting these high standards.
