Dubai Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has transformed all its electronic services to smart services, said a top health official.

Transformation of e-services to smart services will benefit all major stakeholders of DHA such as healthcare professionals, health care facilities, suppliers, medical students and patients. All e-services are compatible on all smart devices including smartphone and tablets of various platforms which ensures continuous service availability and improve e-services accessibility through smart devices.

Eng Eisa Al Maidour, director-general of DHA, said that the move is in line with the Smart Government initiative launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and the Dubai Health Strategy 2013-25.

He said: “Our aim is to ensure a paperless environment and smart transformation for the health sector in Dubai ensuring both services and systems are electronic and smart so that our customers can access these services on their fingertips at their convenience and the health sector can benefit from these services which will help further enhance efficiencies and patient outcomes.”

Amani Al Jasmi, director of information technology at e DHA, said: “All 103 e-services have been transformed to smart services and this is in line with our strategy and Smart Government initiative. Smart services are highly convenient and will benefit all the stakeholders as these services are varied in nature.”

The services include professionals and facility smart services such as Sheryan that offers various features like issuance and renewal of healthcare professional and facility licences, etc.

Other smart services include patient related services such as - cancelling or rescheduling an appointment, renewal of health card, request to issue a duplicate health card, view lab result, view medication , apply for medical report, apply for medical file transfer, view and print duplicate sick leave, etc.

Educational smart services include the smart library app, medical research and the Dubai Residency Training programme.

Al Jasmi added that the Authority is working on ensuring complete paperless environment and smart transformation in the health sector.
