Dubai: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) on Monday announced the launch of its special health supplement to be distributed with Gulf News.
The eight-page supplement titled ‘Better Health’ to be published every Monday will be distributed to Gulf News subscribers within the emirate of Dubai. The supplement will carry the latest health news reports and features showcasing all the initiatives of DHA as well as educating residents about health.
Humaid Al Qutami, chairman of the board and director — general of DHA, said he was happy to build this partnership with the leading English newspaper in the UAE and described it as an important value addition to the health as well as the business sector and the community in general.
“Prevention and well-being are the focal points of the DHA’s Dubai Health Strategy 2016-21 and community outreach programmes are important to educate people on how to lead a healthier life.”
Al Qutami added: “This eight-page weekly broadsheet will not only communicate DHA’s policies, strategies, rules and regulations to the readers but will help us establish a platform where we can share, discuss and interact with Dubai’s community members on how to lead a healthy lifestyle.”

With well-being such a huge cornerstone of modern health care, Better Health will also shine the spotlight on the latest workouts, food and nutrition issues and mental health and well-being.
Ahmad thanked the DHA for collaborating with Gulf News which had time and again in surveys conducted by independent bodies clearly shown to have the highest circulation and readership in the UAE. “We take the media seriously and do responsible reporting and we have a great team that excels in print and digital arena.”
He mentioned a possibility of expanding this operation in the near future into the digital communication area and suggested creation of a health-based app to promote more health awareness through the supplement.
The DHA officials also expressed the need to distribute copies of the supplement across 5,000 health-care facilities in Dubai that include clinics, health centres, hospitals and pharmacies so that a greater number of residents can have better awareness through health education from the contents of this supplement. There is also a plan to expand distribution of the supplement across the UAE in successive phases, officials said.
