Dubai: The first Dubai Thrombosis Conference, the first of its kind to be held in the region, kicked off on Thursday with the participation of an elite group of doctors and specialists from the UAE and abroad.

While inaugurating the conference, Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, chairman and director-general of Dubai Health Authority (DHA), said the authority has adopted a clear policy as part of its strategy (2016/2021) to materialise comprehensive development, which includes everything related to hospital infrastructure, equipment, programmes and smart applications as well as training, knowledge transfer and skills development, enhancing the level of medical practices in addition to research and studies.

Thanks to the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the unlimited support of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and the follow-up of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Health Authority, the authority is seeking to establish a healthy, integrated and future-oriented model, Al Qutami added.
