Dubai: The Zayed House for Orphans in Afghanistan is continuing its educational backing programmes to assist the Afghan people in Kandahar and its surroundings since it was launched in 2003 at a cost of Dh25 million.

The House that was established by the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Foundation is treading in the footsteps of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the wise leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

According to Ebrahim Bu Malha, Chairman of the board of trustees of the Establishment, the orphan’s house was built to encourage orphans of all ages to continue their education and to develop their capabilities — as orphans need all the support and backing they can get.
