Dubai: Weather forecasts suggest major weather fluctuations in the UAE on Thursday and Friday.

Winds are expected to be south-easterly to active southerly winds causing dust, as well as the emergence of a state of atmospheric instability and the development of cumulus rainy thunderstorms over parts of the mountains to the east and internal parts such as the city of Al Ain.

Subsequently the country is expected to witness the following weather phenomena. On Thursday, the UAE will be under the influence of an intense heatwave with maximum temperatures around or above 45 degrees Celsius and reaching 50 degrees in some inland areas.

Southerly and south-easterly winds causing dust will blow, starting from Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and soon after that Dubai, where the weather turns gradually to dusty in different parts of the country.

Cumulus clouds are expected to form at night over the mountains to the east, and some inland areas such as Al Ain.

On Friday the weather is expected to be dusty over wide parts of the country with low visibility.

Temperatures will tend to drop in many parts of the country, excluding Abu Dhabi.

Thunderstorms are also expected to form during the day over the mountains to the east, and some inland areas such as Al Ain.
