Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at Zabeel Mosque in Dubai on Sunday.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance; Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Airline and Group; Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation; Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Shaikh Mohammad Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Land Department; and other Shaikhs, dignitaries and officials attended prayers alongside Shaikh Mohammad.

Dr Omar Mohammad Al Khatib, from the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, led the prayer and delivered the Eid Al Fitr sermon. He congratulated the wise leadership, Emiratis and Muslims on the occasion. He spoke about giving, which is deemed one of the noble deeds in Islam, as well as other noble values.

He also prayed to Allah to preserve President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid; His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and wished them good luck to serve the UAE, Emiratis and humanity.

He also prayed to Allah to have mercy on the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Rashid, as well as the UAE and Arab Coalition’s martyrs in Yemen.

Abu Dhabi

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, performed the Eid Al Fitr prayer on Sunday morning alongside worshippers at the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

Also performing prayers alongside the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi were a number of shaikhs, senior officials, diplomats, citizens and residents.

The sermon, delivered by Dr Mohammad Mattar Salem Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, highlighted the joyous holiday, emphasising its timing to promote love and peace, which Al Kaabi said are the main goals of Islam, expressing hope for it to be achieved around the world.

Dr Al Kaabi pointed out that the Eid is an occasion to strengthen communication with family, creating love and affection between relatives. He added that it is Eid tradition to renew loyalty to the rulers, exchange greetings with them, and affirm love and loyalty to them.

Dr Al Kaabi concluded the sermon with prayers for the late founding father, Shaikh Zayed, and for the UAE to remain a land full of peace and security. He also prayed to Allah for blessings for President Shaikh Khalifa, Vice-President Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed, and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.

Following the prayers, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed exchanged greetings with worshippers on the occasion.

Shaikh Mohammad then visited the Wahat Al Karama, Oasis of Dignity, and read Al Fatiha for the spirits of the martyrs.

Sharjah

His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayer on Sunday at Al Badee Musallah in Sharjah.

Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; and Shaikh Abdullah Bin Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, also offered prayers along Shaikh Sultan.

Shaikh Khalid Bin Abdullah Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Sea Ports and Customs; Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council; a number of shaikhs and senior officials also performed prayers alongside the Sharjah Ruler.

Shaikh Sultan listened to the Eid Al Fitr sermon delivered by Dr Salem Al Doubi. Al Doubi called on worshippers to follow the approach of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and spread the values of tolerance and compassion among people.

He called on the attendees to exchange visits and communication to strengthen human relationship and other good values. He also prayed to Allah to preserve the UAE and Emiratis, wishing for permanent security for the country.

Ajman

The sermon, delivered by Shaikh Hussain Moeen Al Hosani, Director of the Islamic Institute in Ajman, highlighted that Islam promotes compassion, strong social and family bonds.

Shaikh Hussain stressed the greatness of the day and the compassion and tolerance it should reflect.

Following the prayers, Shaikh Humaid and Shaikh Ammar exchanged greetings with shaikhs, senior officials, and worshippers on the occasion.

Umm Al Quwain

A number of shaikhs, senior officials, dignitaries, members of Muslim communities in Umm Al Quwain also offered prayers alongside Shaikh Saud.

Shaikh Mohammad Ebrahim Humaid led the prayer and delivered the Eid sermon. He stressed the importance of exchanging visits among relatives, compassion and cooperation values. He also wished good luck for the wise leadership to serve Islam and Emiratis. He also prayed to Allah to preserve the country under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa.

After the prayer, the UAQ Ruler and Crown Prince exchanged Eid Al Fitr greetings with shaikhs and Emiratis.

Ras Al Khaimah

His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayer on Sunday at the Grand Musallah in the emirate.

A number of shaikhs, senior officials and members of the Arab and Islamic communities also performed Eid prayer alongside the RAK Ruler and Crown Prince.

Shaikh Ahmad Ebrahim Subai’an, Secretary-General of the Ras Al Khaimah Foundation for Holy Quran and its Sciences, led the prayer and delivered the sermon, which dealt with the noble meanings and values of Ramadan. He also urged worshippers to adhere to compassion, respect and other good values.

He also wished well for President Shaikh Khalifa, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, Emiratis and the Arab and Islamic nations. He recalled the merits of the late Shaikh Zayed and the founding fathers of the UAE.

After prayer, the RAK Ruler exchanged Eid Al Fitr greetings with shaikhs, senior officials and worshippers.
