Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, performed Eid Al Fitr prayers at Zabeel Mosque on Wednesday morning.

Shaikh Mohammad was joined by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance; Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group; Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation; and Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as other Shaikhs and senior officials.

Shaikh Mohammad and worshippers listened to the sermon given by Dr Shaikh Omar Al Khateeb, who focused on ‘As Salam’ (meaning ‘Peace’), which is one of the names of Allah Almighty. He also described the importance of peace and love in all religions and cultures as Islam is the religion of love, tolerance and peace.

The imam also spoke about ‘Reading Nation’ campaign and the importance of reading and culture for peoples, which contribute to strengthening ties among Emiratis and other peoples across the world.

At the end of the sermon, he prayed to Allah Almighty to preserve the UAE, wishing well to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and luck for His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for the benefit of Islam and Muslims. He also recalled the legacy of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Shaikh Maktoum, praying to Allah Almighty to rest their souls in Paradise.

Abu Dhabi

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan performed the Eid Al Fitr prayer alongside worshippers at the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Performing prayers by Shaikh Mohammad’s side were Shaikh Saif Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan; Shaikh Surour Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan; Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Shaikh Saeed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative; Shaikh Issa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Shaikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Lt-General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Shaikh Dhiyab Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Shaikh Omar Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development; and Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saif Al Nahyan.

Also performing prayers alongside the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi were a number of shaikhs, senior officials, diplomats, citizens and residents.

The sermon, delivered by Dr Mohammad Mattar Salem Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, highlighted the joyous holiday, emphasising its timing to promote love and peace, which Al Kaabi said are the main goals of Islam, expressing hope for it to be achieved around the world.

Dr Al Kaabi said, “Our Eid is one of peace entrenched with the values of civilised human coexistence and harmony. Allah has called for all Muslims to adhere to those values and spread them in all nations and communities.”

Al Kaabi concluded the sermon with prayers for the nation’s fallen martyrs and coalition forces, and for the UAE to remain a land full of peace and security. He also prayed to Allah for blessings for Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.

Following the prayers, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed exchanged greetings with the worshippers.

Sharjah

His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at Al Badea’ Musallah (prayer hall).

Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; and Shaikh Abdullah Bin Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, also offered Eid prayers along with Dr Shaikh Sultan.

Shaikh Khalid Bin Abdullah Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Seaports and Customs; Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation; Dr Abdullah Bin Mohammad Bel Haif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development; Dr Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammad Bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, senior officials, dignitaries and worshippers also offered Eid prayers.

Dr Shaikh Sultan listened to Eid sermon which was about the importance of spreading peace, harmony and tranquillity in the society. The imam also reminded worshippers about other noble values and teachings of Islam.

The imam prayed to Allah Almighty to preserve the UAE and other Muslim homelands and grant mercy on nation’s martyrs. After the prayers, the Sharjah Ruler exchanged Eid greetings with shaikhs, senior officials, dignitaries, citizens and expatriate residents of the Arab and Islamic countries.

Ajman

His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Shaikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi mosque in Ajman.

Shaikh Humaid was joined by Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman; Shaikh Ahmad Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Representative of the Ruler of Ajman for Administrative and Financial Affairs; other shaikhs, top officials, Emiratis, expatriate residents and members of Arab and Islamic communities.

After Eid prayer, the Ajman Ruler received well-wishers at Al Zaher Palace. He also received greetings from shaikhs, dignitaries, tribesmen, senior officials and others.

Fujairah

His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah.

He was joined by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Shaikhs, senior officials, dignitaries and members of the Arab and Muslim communities.

Following the prayers, the Fujairah Ruler exchanged greetings with senior officials, dignitaries, citizens and residents on the occasion.

Umm Al Quwain

His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Umm Al Quwain.

Shaikh Rashid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, also offered Eid prayers along with Shaikh Saud.

Shaikh Sultan Al Marzouqi led the prayer and stressed the importance of exchanging visits with relatives. He also wished well to Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and further progress, welfare and development to the UAE and the Arab and Islamic nations.

Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid exchanged Eid greetings with shaikhs, top officials, citizens and residents on the occasion.

Ras Al Khaimah

His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Grand Musallah in the Khuzam area. Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, also joined the prayers.

Other shaikhs, senior officials, UAE citizens and members of the Arab and Islamic communities also performed Eid prayers with the Ruler.

In Al Ain, Shaikh Saeed Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan and Shaikh Hazza Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Dewan of the Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at Al Noor Mosque in Al Ain city.

Shaikh Saeed and Shaikh Hazza were joined in the prayers by a number of Shaikhs and senior officials.
