Rome: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Thursday discussed with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi bilateral relations and cooperation and ways to boost them in the best interests of both nations.

They held the discussion during a meeting in Rome.

Renzi welcomed Shaikh Mohammad to Rome and expressed his satisfaction at the visit which he said would further deepen cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the overall bilateral relations and ways of developing them in various fields and benefiting from the mutual capabilities to serve the economic and investment sectors.

“The UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on supporting bilateral cooperation and friendly relations to serve the mutual interests of both countries,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

He stressed the importance of such meetings as they help create new opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations, expand the scope of cooperation and increase the possibilities of forging mutual partnerships in the economic, trade and development sectors.

Renzi expressed his confidence that the UAE-Italy relations would see further development and growth thanks to both sides’ sincere intentions to upgrade them in all areas.

Shaikh Mohammad and Renzi also exchanged views about the latest international and regional developments and a number of issues of mutual concern

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; and Mohammad Mubarak Al Mazroui, Undersecretary of the Crown Prince’s Court, as well as other senior officials from both sides.
