Amman: UAE's F16 fighter jets based in Jordan attacked oil refineries under the control of Daesh in a fresh wave of air strikes on Monday.
The air raids were effective in denting the firepower of the terror group and the jets returned safely to base, the official news agency WAM reported.
The squadron of fighter jets also hit Daesh sites, command and control systems, said the agency.
On 10 and 12 February, the UAE Desert Falcons launched several similar effective and lethal airstrikes against the positions of the terrorist group.
The squadron was deployed recently in Jordan upon directives from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and on the orders from His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The stationing of F16s displays the support extended by the UAE leadership and people at all levels and in all spheres to the fraternal Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the UAE's unwavering and constant solidarity with its brothers.
The initiative also expresses the UAE's appreciation of Jordan's pioneering role and substantial sacrifices for the security and stability of the region, as well as its support to the military effort of Jordan's Arab Army and its effective participation in the global coalition to counter the terrorist group, Daesh (Isil).
The UAE's initiative of backing Jordan's official and popular stance stems from its deep belief in the need for pan-Arab cooperation on the eradication of terrorism, in words and actions, and bolstering regional security and stability through collective and effective fight against such terror gangs and their misleading ideology and brutal practices, it said.
