Abu Dhabi: The Central Bank of the UAE has said that it will issue a commemorative silver coin on the occasion of Commemoration Day (Martyrs’ Day), which is celebrated on November 30.

The bank in a statement has said that the move comes in appreciation of the decision of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to declare November 30 of each year as Commemoration Day to express gratitude to “our heroic martyrs and dutiful sons”, who have made the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect their country and ensure that the UAE flag continues to fly high.

The bank says that in order to contribute to the occasion, the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the UAE has decided to issue a commemorative silver coin. The face of the coin will depict the official logo of the occasion, and the other side will depict the UAE official logo surrounded by the UAE name in both Arabic and English, in addition to the date, November 30.

The Central Bank will shortly announce the date of the launch of the coin.
