Dubai: Highlighting the pioneering role played by the UAE on the international arena to promote the values of tolerance and harmony, Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance and chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the International Institute for Tolerance, said the UAE is a model of peaceful coexistence.

She also emphasised the role played by the UAE leadership to realise the hopes and aspirations of its people, nationals and expatriates, who live together in harmony.

During the first meeting of the Board of Trustees of the International Institute for Tolerance recently, Shaikha Lubna emphasised the importance of translating the value of tolerance into sustainable institutional work.

She also stressed the importance of converging and coordinating efforts with relevant authorities to endorse these values locally, regionally and globally. The meeting also addressed the strategy adopted by the International Institute for Tolerance and its ambitious vision to become an international house of expertise where policies are rationalised and values of tolerance and coexistence are consolidated.

The participants also discussed the objectives, categories, target audience and procedures of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Tolerance.
