Paris: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, accompanied by Shaikha Budoor Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, founder and CEO of the Kalimat Group, visited the National Library of France in Paris on Friday.
Dr Shaikh Sultan toured different sections of the library and was briefed by the officials on its collection of rare books, maps, images, manuscripts, coins and medals.
Shaikh Sultan was accompanied during his tour by Mu’dhid Hareb Al Khaili, UAE ambassador to France, Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Owais, chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture, and other officials.
The National Library of France is the national repository of all literature that is published in France. It collects, preserves and makes known the national documentary heritage. It has a collection of 14 million books and printed documents, manuscripts, prints, photographs, maps and plans, coins, medals, audio, video and multimedia documents among others.
