Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, awarded today (Wednesday) winners of the third edition of the Arab Family Award, held under the slogan ‘Through family ties we rise’ at the Sharjah Cultural Palace auditorium.

King Mohammad VI of Morocco was on the top of the awardees list for his venerable contributions to supporting Arab families, promoting the Moroccan family and enhancing the security and safety of familiesthrough the programmes and projects of reform and development.

The distinguished family category was won by the family of the late Dr Abdullah Omran Taryam; the family of Dr Saleh Al Shiaibi, keeper of the holy Kaaba, from Saudi Arabia; Dr Ruaida Maaytah, from Jordan; Dr Bassam Abdul Karim of Lebanon; and Dr Yousuf Mohammad Sharab of Palestine.

The family of Shaikh Mubarak Bin Abdullah Suwaiket from Saudi Arabia won the distinguished family award for working in the field of relief.

Shaikh Sultan, accompanied by Jamal Obaid, honoured the winners, blessed their efforts and praised their role in promoting family development in the Arab world.
