Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued a number of decrees today (Saturday).

Dr Shaikh Sultan issued Decree No 62 for 2015 appointing the chairman of the Sharjah Art Foundation.

The decree stipulates appointing Shaikha Hour Bint Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi Chairperson of the Sharjah Art Foundation.

The decree will come into effect from the date of its issuance and will be published in the official gazette.

Dr Shaikh Sultan also issued Decree No 66 for 2015 promoting the director of the Legal Department at the Sharjah Ruler’s office to director-general.

The decree stipulates that legal adviser Shaikh Mansour Mohammad Nassar, Director of the Legal Department of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, is to be promoted to director-general of the department.

The decree will come into effect from the date of its issuance and will be published in the official gazette.

Dr Shaikh Sultan issued Decree No (65) for 2015 promoting the director-general of the Sultan Al Qasimi Centre of Gulf Studies to head of department.

The decree stipulated in its first article that Ali Ebrahim Salem Al Merri, Director-General of the Sultan Al Qasimi Centre of Gulf Studies is to be promoted to head of the department.

The decree comes into effect from the date of issuance and will be published in the official gazette.

The Ruler also issued Decree No 64 for 2015 promoting the cultural adviser to the Department of Family Development Centres at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs to director of the department.

The Emiri decree stipulates that Saliha Obaid Gobash, Cultural Adviser to the Department of Family Development Centres at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs is to be promoted to director of the department

Dr Shaikh Sultan also issued Decree No 63 for 2015, promoting the director-general of the Department of Family Development Centres at Supreme Council for Family Affairs to the head of department.

The decree states in its first article that Modi Mohammad Hamad Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Department of Family Development Centres at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, is promoted to head of department on the pension reward scheme of the Government of Sharjah’s departments and agencies.

Dr Shaikh Sultan also issued law No 2 for 2015 regarding the regulation of the Sharjah Art Foundation.

The law stipulates the establishment of the Sharjah Art Foundation to be termed SAF with a legal personality, an independent budget and enjoying financial and administrative independence.

According to the decree, the foundation is the competent local authority responsible for various arts affairs, The foundation will also take into account that its responsibilities will not be in conflict with other entities in the emirate.

The Sharjah Art Foundation will patronage arts and artistic heritage in the emirate in coordination with the concerned authorities while observing the rules of jurisdiction.

A number of goals were identified for the foundation such as preserving the artistic heritage and protecting it and showcasing its identity.

Another aim is to highlight the artistic side of the emirate in general and working to make it an artistic attraction at the Arab and international levels.
