Abu Dhabi: The slogan ‘Spirit of the Union’ will remain the official theme of the UAE’s 44th National Day.

This was decided at a meeting chaired by Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Chairman of the Higher National Committee of UAE’s 44th National Day celebrations.

During the meeting, Shaikh Nahyan emphasised that National Day celebrations represent a happy occasion for all segments of UAE society, and it is the most important day for the UAE as it signifies the beginning of the country’s renaissance and is a symbol of its security, welfare and progress in all areas.

During the meeting, Shaikh Nahyan approved the UAE’s 44th National Day logo. They also discussed the proposed events and activities planned by local departments and committees across the country for this year’s celebrations. The proposals focused on activities that highlight the UAE’s values, heritage, culture and distinguished achievements accomplished thanks to the wise leadership.

“This day reminds us of our founding fathers, especially the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who laid the foundation stone of this homeland and placed Emiratis at the forefront of the nation’s priorities,” said Shaikh Nahyan. “Our wise leaders, namely, President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, followed Shaikh Zayed’s legacy which made the country a symbol of progress, growth, welfare and security not only in the region but also at the international level,” he added.

Shaikh Nahyan pointed out that the participation of all authorities, federal and local departments, private sector, citizens and residents in the National Day celebrations will present a genuine image of the UAE society’s cohesion and spirit of solidarity under the flag of the UAE and the wise leadership.
