Sharjah : Sharjah Police announced on Sunday that renewal of vehicle registration cards or replacement of lost or damaged cards will now only be done online.

Colonel Ali Bualzod, Director of Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department at Sharjah Police, said that, starting October 1, police will stop renewing vehicle registration in person at licensing service centres.

The new service works only if a vehicle has an up-to-date test certificate and insurance policy.

Motorists have to log on to the Ministry of Interior’s website www.moi.gov.ae to obtain their vehicle registration.

The initiative aims to facilitate services to customers and enable them to complete their transactions through smart applications without approaching the traffic and licensing department.

“The public can access the service at all times regardless of their location or the time of day,” he said

The Ministry of interior’s application can also be downloaded on mobile phones

Applicants will receive an electronic registration on the mobile phone and then a courier company will deliver it within 48 hours of receipt of the request.
