Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday attended the 12th Forum of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), in the presence of Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The Forum is organised by MoFAIC for UAE Ambassadors and its representatives in brotherly and friendly countries and international organisations and bodies.

With the participation of more than 166 ambassadors, head of political and diplomatic corps along with department directors and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Shaikh Mohammad and Shaikh Abdullah attended the forum’s fifth session, which focused on UAE-US relations along with the regional and international developments related to the foreign policy of the UAE.

Shaikh Mohammad praised the five-day forum, which enhances communication between the ministry and its representatives around the world. The forum will discuss the annual regional and international developments, various topics and issues related to the foreign policy of the UAE. Each ambassador and head of mission review challenges facing the successful performance of his mission in the country in which he represents the UAE and ways to overcome any obstacles he may face in the host country.

“You represent your state in various countries of the world and are requested to work very hard to serve national issues and preserve your country’s and people’s supreme national interests by exerting more efforts in your work. This is because His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and I want our state to be at the forefront of world countries, and this can be achieved through the efforts, expertise and dedication of Emiratis.”

“Your role in the current phase is more important than ever because you represent your leadership’s vision and people’s aspirations to be the number one in all international levels especially in knowledge, investment, tourism, education, knowledge-based economy and innovation fields.”

While advising the ambassadors, Shaikh Mohammad highlighted the role of the ministry led by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed in building good and balanced relations with all brotherly and friendly countries in a way that preserves the UAE’s supreme interests and strengthens the foundations of peace, security and stability in the region and the world.

Shaikh Mohammad also stressed the need to give UAE ambassadors and representatives abroad greater attention and care to the UAE people abroad including patients, students, tourists, businessmen and all segments of our society when they are outside their country for any reason.

Also present at the fifth session were Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Dr Anwar Bin Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Zaki Nussaibeh, Minister of State, and Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.
