Abu Dhabi: The body of martyr Corporal Abdul Rahman Ebrahim Eisa Al Baloushi arrived at dawn on Thursday at the Bateen Airport in Abu Dhabi, aboard a military plane.

The repatriation of the soldier’s body was accompanied by a group of officers from the UAE Armed Forces.

On arrival, a special military ceremony was held at the airport to receive the body of the martyr in the presence of a number of senior officers.

The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces on Wednesday announced in a statement that Corporal Al Baloushi had died when the car he was travelling overturned in Saudi Arabia, where he was taking part in the Saudi-led Arab Coalition, Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.

Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday offered his condolences to the family of Corporal Al Baloushi.

During his visit to the martyr’s mourning majlis in Rashidiya, in Dubai, Shaikh Maktoum stressed that the sacrifices made by the sons of UAE in order to avert danger and maintain security and integrity of the Arab societies against all threats, is a source of great pride for every Emirati.

Shaikh Maktoum said such sacrifices will remain as witness to our commitment to defend our brothers and the courage of our sons.
