Sana’a: The Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital was opened on Thursday in Yemen’s Socotra Island.

The Hospital, built with funding from Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation, will undergo two more phases of expansion within a year. Opening the hospital, Abdullah Mattar Al Mazroui, UAE Ambassador to Yemen, said it has two operation theatres, an intensive care room and departments of gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics and emergency care, all with sophisticated medical equipment.

Governor of Hadhramout Province, Khalid Saeed Al Deeni, a number of other senior state officials, Arab ambassadors in Yemen and a gathering of the inhabitants of the island attended the opening ceremony.
