Dubai: The e-link project between Dubai Health Authority and General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs has entered its second phase.

The first phase was previously initiated in April through a resolution by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, pertaining to implementing the health insurance system in Dubai.

Dr Haidar Al Yousuf, Director General of the Health Funding Department at DHA, said that the second phase features directly linking the health insurance e-system with the directorate’s Vision system. Al Yousuf pointed out that employers can complete the residency procedures online once health insurance is obtained and the insurance company inputs the data of a client in the DHA system.

Al Yousuf said that the direct link will boost the system’s efficiency and insurance for all members of the community who are receiving residence visas in Dubai, as per the Health Insurance Law issued in 2013 by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
