Abu Dhabi: Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, yesterday (Monday) received Dana Sulaiman Al Beloushi, a nine-year-old Emirati who is considered the youngest astronaut currently taking part in aeronautics and space administration programmes at Nasa.
Dana presented to Shaikh Saif her space suit, which is embroidered with Shaikh Saif’s name. She also presented the gold medals that she won as a gift to Shaikh Saif, thanking him for his unlimited support when her talents were first discovered.
Dana also showed Shaikh Saif nine certificates that she earned through various training courses in the fields of aviation, maritime and space science.
Shaikh Saif accepted the gesture and urged her to keep the suit and medals as a motivation for her to continue on her march of excellence and innovation. Shaikh Saif stressed that the UAE is very proud of the achievements and scientific excellence of Emirati children.
Shaikh Saif received Sulaiman Al Beloushi, the father of Dana and young Emirati inventor Adib Sulaiman Al Beloushi. Adib promised Shaikh Saif that he would continue to achieve more excellence in order to achieve his dream of winning a Nobel prize and making the UAE proud.
