Abu Dhabi: Lt Gen Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, yesterday inaugurated the first phase of the Smart Civil Defence Centres.

The project aims to strengthen the centres’ preparedness and operational capacities as well as the remote command and control of the operation room. Lt Gen Shaikh Saif was briefed on the project and its objectives to support and develop the performance of the civil defence and time response to cope with emergency cases and moving to the scene in record time.

He called on police leaders to keep pace with the latest developments aimed at improving police and security work, and to implement international best practices in providing excellent services to the public.

This came as Shaikh Saif chaired the periodic meeting of the Police Leaders’ Council yesterday.

Shaikh Saif discussed a number of topics pertaining to the development of police and security work, in accordance with the vision of the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Government.

He also reviewed the efforts exerted to achieve the strategic objectives, mechanisms for implementation of police operations, as well as the best practices applied at the different police general headquarters and directorates general.
