Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday issued a resolution setting up the UAE-Saudi Arabia joint cooperation committee.

The resolution stipulates that the committee will be chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, while Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, will serve as Deputy Chairman.

The resolution stipulates that the chairman will issue a decision on the appointment of the committee’s members, who will be representatives from the UAE’s public sector and federal bodies.

The committee will specialise in cooperation and coordination between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the field of military, politics, economy, trade, culture and other areas of mutual interest.

The resolution comes into effect from the date of its issuance and is to be published in the official gazette.
