Dubai: Tenants had to evacuate their building in Dubai International Financial Centre on Saturday night, leaving residents to speculate that a fire had broken out.

People living in DIFC claimed that a fire had erupted at Sky Gardens at around 11pm.

However, Dubai’s Civil Defence have clarified that there was no fire, but only smoke instead, which came from the building’s sauna room.

In a series of tweets, Dubai Media Office said, “the building was evacuated for safety reasons due to smoke coming from the sauna room.”

Tenants were also soon allowed to return to their apartments after fire fighters ensured the safety of the building.
