Dubai: Khidmaty, a new government service centre offering some 50 services from various government departments at one place, opened in Abu Hail on Tuesday.

The new service centre provides services from the Department of Economic Development, Dubai Court, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai Land Department, Dubai Municipality and Emirates ID.

“We are starting with these departments and their services, but our future plan is to provide all services for all government departments in the most innovative way to ensure customer happiness,” Khalid Othman, floor manager at Khidmaty centre, said following the opening ceremony.

The new centre is the only centre in Dubai, he said, but they aim to open more in the near future.

People can apply for or renew their National ID card or GCC ID card, replace or cancel an ID card as well as file a fine exemption request.

Dubai Municipality services include requesting permits for environment services, Dubai Central Laboratory services and food control Services.

Issuing an investor residence visa, printing and modifying status form, printing medical form, and the cancellation of employment or family visas are some of the services of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.

“We aim to be a smart service establishment, and we utilise all smart services to cater our customers’ needs,” he said.

There are additional charges for the services. “It is a nominal fee to cover our working expenses,” he said.

He said that creating real partnerships with government departments is one of the main points of their strategic plan, as well as increasing the number of services and customers.

Marwan Al Falasi, founder of the centre, said, “We are privileged to announce the launch of Khidmaty Government Services Centre, and we draw our inspiration from His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who always says quality is not an end, it is a way of life.”

Other partners include Jebel Free Zone, Dubai Health Authority, Department of Finance, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dubai Customs, Dubai Airports, Dubai Trade, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Airport Free Zone, Dubai Police, Public Prosecution, Ministry of Labour and Dubai Land Department.
