Ras Al Khaimah: Residents have completed what they claim to be the longest and biggest UAE flag on public roads to commemorate UAE National Day in Ras Al Khaimah.

As many as 100 Emiratis have installed the longest UAE flag on Ghalila road. Ahmad Laha, a Ghalila resident and former member of FNC, said the 700-metre flag displayed on the public road is the longest one in the country. The project of sewing and preparation took one month and the project was completed by Emiratis only. More than 100 Emiratis carried the 700 metre flag and displayed it on 200 poles on the road in Ghalila area of Ras Al Khaimah

“The work on preparing the flag started on October 26 and completed on November 27,” he said. Participants spent about eight and hour hours to install the flag on the road.

The event was supported by a number of cement companies and crushing plants operating in Ras Al Khaimah.

Laha said that two cranes and a number of light vehicles were involved in the installation of the flag.
