Dubai: Dubai Police celebrated the UAE 46th National Day with 5 tonnes of cake on a stretch of 65 metres and the longest UAE flag ever which is 500 metres long.

General Commander Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, witnessed the celebration in the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency with other officials and social figures.

Al Merri, cut the 5-tonne cake which is believed to be the biggest cake ever made in the Middle East.

As many as 4,130 students from GEMS schools created a world record as the largest human waving flag at GEMS Cambridge International School in Abu Dhabi yesterday as a tribute to UAE National Day.

Al Merri and other officials carried the longest UAE flag ever which was designed for the occasion. The earlier record of the longest flag is 180 metres, according to the police. Martyrs’ families were also honoured at the end of the celebrations.
