Dubai: A total of 100 hard-working Dubai Municipality workers were flown to Makkah to perform Umrah on Thursday morning.
The trip was fully paid by the municipality, and the 100 workers were picked for being outstanding in their departments.
Ahmad Abdul Kareem, director of the Human Resources Department at the municipality, said that the trip is five days long, three in Makkah and two in Madinah.
The workers represent one per cent of each of the municipality’s departments.
Of the 100, 35 were from the waste management department, 25 from the Parks and Agriculture Department and the remaining 40 were from various departments.
This is not the first time the municipality has carried out this initiative.
