Mohammad Bin Rashid visits Dubai Frame

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday visited Dubai’s new iconic landmark, the Dubai Frame at Zabeel Park.

Accompanied by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Mohammad toured the Dh250-million tourist attraction.

He began his tour by visiting the Frame’ mezzanine level, which includes interactive screens that allow visitors to enjoy an impressive experience and explore the breathtaking views of Dubai’s historical and modern landmarks. The iconic structure allows visitors and tourists to gain a glimpse into the UAE’s rich heritage and history, as well as its past and present accomplishments.

Shaikh Mohammad and his entourage then went up to the 93-metre-long bridge, a transparent passage connecting the frame’ two towers — which serves as an observatory providing uninterrupted views of ‘Old Dubai’ in the north, and ‘New Dubai’ in the south.

Shaikh Mohammad then headed to the other side of mezzanine floor where he watched an exhibition titled ‘Dubai — The Future’ through a sophisticated visualisation of the city until the next 50 years from now. Shaikh Mohammad also visited the souvenirs exhibition where visitors can buy souvenirs for their families and friends bearing the photo of the frame.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed his satisfaction with the Dubai Frame, which is all set for a January opening, and praised Dubai Municipality’s efforts.

The frame, which is referred to in Arabic as ‘Berwaz’, consists of two 150-metre-high towers that are connected by a 93m transparent bridge at the top. The space between the towers gives a clear view of the city from a high altitude.

The concept reflects a journey through time, starting at the mezzanine level, where visitors enter into an experience representing the history. projections, mist effects, smells, and motion create the immersive mood setting of the space. The Past Gallery embodies the idea of the project and tells the story of the evolution of the city and its past, and shows the old city using the most new and updated means of presentation that contributes to the creation of a favourable environment that helps comprehend the impressive development and progress taking place in Dubai.

Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, and senior officials, were present.
