Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday received Zhao Leji, Member of the Central Politburo of the Communist Party of China, Central Committee, and Head of the CPC Organisation Department, at the level of Deputy Prime Minister, who is currently on a visit to the UAE.

Shaikh Mohammad welcomed the Chinese guest and his delegation, and expressed his confidence that the visit would help open up new horizons for wider avenues of cooperation for the good of the two nations and peoples.

They held talks on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern and the greatest challenge in combating terrorism.

Shaikh Mohammad stressed the UAE’s keenness on the development of relations, partnerships and cooperation with the people of China in various spheres, with a focus on tourism and culture, emphasising the role of China in various international forums.

The talks between Shaikh Mohammad and Ahao Leji touched on the UAE-China Week that will be held in Beijing next week with the participation of 150 Emirati companies and destinations to promote the UAE in China and the Chinese business community.

Shaikh Mohammad said that Chinese companies are welcome in the UAE and enjoy all the facilities and support to develop their businesses and investment activities in the country.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and other senior officials.
