Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received Iraqi Foreign Minister Ebrahim Al Jaafari, and his delegation.

Al Jaafari is leading an Iraqi delegation to the UAE-Iraqi joint committee meetings taking place in Abu Dhabi.

Shaikh Mohammad welcomed Al Jaafari and discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them to serve common interests of both nations and peoples. They exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The talk touched on the latest developments in the region as well as on the efforts made to overcome the current crises and the Arab position about the challenges facing the region, foremost of which are extremism and terrorism. Shaikh Mohammad and Al Jaafari highlighted the importance of the Arab coordination and solidarity in order to preserve safety and stability in the region.

Shaikh Mohammad wished the UAE-Iraqi joint committee meetings success for the sake of the two countries.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra, Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and other senior officials, were also present.
